Case Study

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Client: National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)
Industry: Government, Defense, Intelligence
Services Provided: Social Media Campaign Design,
Content Creation
Timeline: 2 Weeks
Goal: Increase engagement and drive traffic to NGA’s social media platforms through an annual cross-agency birthday/anniversary recognition campaign, highlighting the missions of partner organizations across the Department of Defense and
Intelligence Community.

THE CHALLENGE

NGA’s content can often feel dry and visually limited due to the technical and sensitive nature of the agency’s mission. This made it challenging to create posts that felt both engaging and aligned with strict branding and public-facing standards. The goal was to elevate an annual tradition while maintaining agency professionalism and clarity.

THE APPROACH

Audit & Strategy: Reviewed past NGA birthday recognition posts and community engagement trends to identify opportunities for stronger visual consistency and storytelling.
Creative Direction: Developed a flexible, reusable template system that could be customized for each agency’s identity.
The theme incorporated:
• Unique color schemes tied to each agency’s seal
• Mission-representative imagery
• A shared layout structure to unify the full set
Content Design: Created eight graphics, each tailored to the honored agency and scheduled to post on its official birthday/anniversary date.
Scheduling & Execution: Final graphics were delivered to the
NGA News Team, which managed publication across platforms and ensured timing accuracy within the broader social calendar.

THE SOLUTION

Visual Style: Bold color palettes derived from each agency’s seal, mission-aligned imagery, and a clean template system that ensured cohesion across all posts.
Tone of Voice: Respectful, informative, and mission-focused.
Deliverables:

  • 8 feed posts for Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter

  • Unified visual template adaptable for future campaigns

RESULTS

  • Significant increase in platform engagement during the campaign period

  • Improved cross-platform consistency and elevated
    brand voice

  • Higher traffic directed to the NGA website from
    social channels

  • The campaign was well-received internally, resulting in the NGA News Team requesting an expanded set of graphics
    for the following year

KEY TAKEAWAY

Even highly technical government missions can have a compelling visual presence when design consistency, tailored aesthetics, and thoughtful storytelling come together. A strong template system not only boosts engagement but also creates a scalable foundation for future campaigns.
